Back to the Books
As I near the completion of my undergrad program at CCU I realize that I have a large stack of books that I have neglected over the past two years.
Some, intriguing as they are, fell to the side as my scholarly obligations took precedence. So, as I sit here I am reminded of books I began to read, but somewhere along the way I got sidetracked. I am also reminded of books I was excited to receive, but never cracked the binding.
So here Is my list of books I intend to read as I finish my academic requirements. They are divided into three groups: books I want to finish, books I want to start (and finish), and books I plan to purchase (and start and finish).
First, books I started to read, but never finished:
Slaves, Women, and Homosexuals by William Webb
Colossians Remixed by Brian Walsh & Sylvia Keesmaat
Myth of a Christian Nation by Greg Boyd
The Forgotten Ways by Alan Hirsch
The Organic Church by Neil Cole
Second, books I own and am excited to begin (and finish in a timely manner)
They Like Jesus, But Not The Church by Dan Kimball
Serve God, Save the Planet by Matthew Sleeth
Irresistible Revolution by Shane Claiborne
Finally, books I look forward to buying and reading:
Giving: How Each of Us Can Change the World by Bill Clinton
Freakonomics by Steven Levitt & Stephen Dubner
Planting Missional Churches by Ed Stetzer
Labels: books, CCU, procrastination

It's hard to read for pleasure when you have so much "required" reading.
I love to read..I do the same thing you do...start a book..buy a book..and then don't get to finish it. Alot of great books...not enough time :)
I just saw a book at Borders called "Unchristian" by David Kinnaman and Gabe Lyons which looks good.
All the books you started reading but didn't complete look great.
"The Irresistible Revolution" and "They Like Jesus But Not The Church" are great reads.
